The Ballerina Project: Brittney – Central Park (2-115)
About a year ago I saw this image for the first time;
one of many enchanting photographs captured
as part of The Ballerina Project.
There are hundreds and hundreds of images
in this whimsical, truly beautiful series …
like this one, and this one, and this one.
(They all sing to the dancer spirit in me
and I simply love the juxtaposition of such delicate femininity
against the often stark, hard urban environments.)
But the image above is my most favorite.
It has the feeling of a storybook image coming to life.
Something like: Swan Lake meets The Land of Narnia.
I think of fairies and music boxes every time I see it.
